What is the Workforce Readiness Teen Program?

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County host a 6-month program available to all teens ages 16 through 18, to prepare your teenager for their future (that is approaching quickly.) Teens will work through a curriculum via Zoom, along with a few in-person meetings and field trips. Those who complete the program with receive a cash incentive, along with invaluable knowledge of how to navigate their journey to employment.

Curriculum & Programs
  • Money Matters – This curriculum teaches teens financial skills that promote workplace readiness, lifelong financial stability, and overall success.
  • Career Launch / Degrees to Diplomas – This curriculum provides opportunities for teens to explore a broad range of career areas, and identify the skills and education needed for their particular career path. 
  • In-person tours of local businesses and career areas. 
  • College tours 
  • Mock interviews
