20th Annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Competition
This year’s event starts on Friday, February 2nd at 6:00 p.m
The Annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Competition is hosted each February. Funds raised benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County. More than 50 teams from across the country will compete! Unique entertainment includes: live bands and awards for the best chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket. Winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Admission is $20 Friday Night
$2 Saturday and kids 10 years and younger can enter for free
Stop by a Pig Bucks booth (located near the entrance and various locations throughout) and exchange your cash for Pig Bucks, the official currency of Smoke on the Water. By purchasing food from competition teams, you are supporting their efforts and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County!

Parking/Shuttle FAQs
We are providing Free Parking with Shuttle Service for Smoke on the Water beginning Friday night at 5:00 p.m. and ending Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
Handicap and Standard Parking are available at Garner Elementary School located at 2500 Havendale Blvd (walking distance to the event)
Free Parking will also be available at Champions Church (1801 Havendale Blvd)
Shuttle Service will be offered at our free parking lots Friday (5pm – 10pm) and Saturday (10am-7pm)
Florida Triple Crown of Barbecue
This year, Smoke On The Water is proud to be a part of the inaugural Florida Triple Crown of Barbeque. At three events, taking place over 3 weeks in January and February of 2024, teams will have a chance to compete in three Kansas City BBQ Society-sanctioned events. The team with the highest point total across all three events will win the Visit Central Florida Triple Crown of BBQ Presented By Whiskey Bent BBQ.
