At Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County, we believe that every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story, and we know that success doesn’t just happen by chance. It takes the right environment, the right guidance, and the right resources.

We recognize that the needs of our community’s at-risk youth continue to grow, and we remain committed to meeting those needs head-on. At BGCPC, that means doing more than offering a safe place after school—it means creating spaces where young people feel inspired, supported, and equipped to reach their full potential.

Thanks to the Empower Polk Grant from the GiveWell Community Foundation, we’ve been able to take a meaningful step forward in that mission. A grant of $5,369 allowed us to purchase furniture for our newly remodeled George Jenkins Memorial Club, furnishings that helped transform the space into a safe, functional, and motivating environment where our members can learn, grow, and thrive.

This investment goes beyond new tables and chairs; it provides youth a space that reflects their value and potential. When kids walk into a room that’s been thoughtfully designed for their success, it sends a powerful message: you belong here, and your future matters.

We’re deeply grateful to the GiveWell Community Foundation for helping us build the kind of environment where success stories begin!
