clublub Winter Haven, Florida – Monday, July 1, 2024

Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the much-anticipated renovation of our historic George Jenkins Memorial Unit. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on July 18th at 2400 Havendale Boulevard in Winter Haven.

Originally constructed in 1967, this building has been a cornerstone of the Winter Haven community, providing a safe and nurturing environment for generations of young people. This renovation marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing the facilities and services we offer, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our youth.

The ceremony will feature remarks from key community leaders, Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County executives, and special guests who have been instrumental in making this renovation possible. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the renovation plans, which include state-of-the-art facilities designed to support a wide range of educational and recreational activities.

The renovation project has been made possible through the generous support of donors in the community. The new design will include updated classrooms, recreational areas, and a technology center.  Together, they’ll provide club members with all the resources they need to develop themselves as members of the Winter Haven Community.

We invite the community to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion and to witness the beginning of a transformation that will impact countless young lives for years to come.
