2025 Advocate for Youth by Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County Named 2025 Advocate for Youth by Boys & Girls Clubs of America

We’re proud to share that Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County has been named a 2025 Advocate for Youth by the Office of Government Relations at Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

This national recognition honors our commitment to raising awareness and driving action for the kids and teens we serve. Through community engagement, Club tours for elected officials, media outreach, and local advocacy, BGCPolk continues to elevate the voices of young people across our county — ensuring policymakers understand the value of safe, enriching, and opportunity-driven spaces like our Clubs.

Why It Matters

Each year, Clubs across the country take part in advocacy efforts to secure critical public funding and policy support for after-school and summer programs. In 2025, those collective efforts helped secure over $400 million in public funding for Boys & Girls Clubs and the youth we serve nationwide.

By achieving Advocate for Youth status, BGCPolk joins other high-performing Clubs from across the country, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with organizations who are shaping a stronger future for children through community involvement and civic leadership.

Our Advocacy In Action

In Polk County, advocacy isn’t just something we do — it’s part of our culture. Over the last year, we’ve:

  • Hosted elected officials and community leaders for Club tours

  • Shared success stories through local news outlets and social media

  • Partnered with organizations to build stronger pathways for youth to succeed

  • Participated in regional and statewide efforts to elevate the importance of after-school programming and workforce readiness initiatives

These actions help us amplify the needs of our kids and make sure their futures stay top-of-mind for decision-makers.

A Badge of Honor

You might spot a new badge on our digital channels — our official Advocate for Youth emblem, issued by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This symbol is more than just a badge; it’s a reflection of your support, our staff’s commitment, and our community’s willingness to stand up for the next generation.

What’s Next?

We’re not stopping here. As we continue to grow and serve more youth through initiatives like the new Brian Lamar Brady Workforce Readiness Center, we’ll keep advocating for funding, resources, and policies that help our kids thrive.

We also want to recognize Boys & Girls Club of Martin County, this year’s top point-earner nationally and within the Southeast region. Their incredible example motivates us to continue aiming higher.

Together, we’re building great futures — one voice at a time.
